DOSINFO is a useful diagnostic tool for your system. Use it as the last
command in your autoexec.bat file, and you have a visual check each time you
boot up your system that everything is as it should be.

The "Disk stats" box displays the size of the default (current) drive, the
amount used and the amount free. The units displayed are megabytes if the disk
is greater than 10Mb in size, otherwise kilobytes are displayed.

The "Disk Usage" box gives a graphical display of the amount of disk space
used as a percentage.

The box labelled "Dos" displays the DOS version number your system is running.

It's important to have your system time and date set correctly, especially
with respect to file keeping, so it's useful to have a visual check of the
time and date in the center of the panel.

Verify is a status indicator. If on, this means that whenever DOS writes to a
disk it then reads what it just wrote to ensure that the data was written
correctly. This makes disk writes slower, however.

Break is another status indicator. The key combination "ctrl-c" is used to
interrupt a process. If this is off DOS will only check for ctrl-c when it
reads from the keyboard or writes to the screen or printer. If this is on, DOS
also checks for ctrl-c during disk read/writes and other operations.

In the registered version, there will also be statistics for your system's
memory, similar to the "disk stats" and the "disk usage" boxes.

DOSINFO is shareware and has no annoying messages saying so. If you decide
to register your copy of DOSINFO, you will receive the full version of this
program which will contain more features, such as memory statistics. You will
also receive a copy of Cassius Software's latest release.
